CE Course Modules
Basic Safety Training
First Aid (BST)
The aim of the BST First Aid module is to enable participants, through theoretical and practical training, to recognize signs and symptoms of life-threatening situations and administer safe and effective first aid in the wind turbine industry/environment in order to save lives and prevent injury.
Manual Handling (BST)
The aim of this module is to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries for wind technicians in the wind industry and enable participants to perform their tasks and activities in the safest possible way when working in a wind turbine environment.
Fire Awareness (BST)
The aim of this module is to enable the participants to prevent fires, make appropriate judgments when evaluating a fire, manage evacuation of personnel, and ensure all are safely accounted for in the event of an unmanageable fire. Participants will be use basic hand-held fire fighting equipment.
Working at Heights (BST)
The aim of this module is to enable the participants, through theoretical and practical training, to use basic personal protective equipment, work safely at height, and perform comprehensive basic rescue from height in a remote wind turbine environment.
Basic Technical Training
Mechanical (BTT)
The aim of this module is to enable the participants to be able to perform basic mechanical tasks under the supervision of an experienced technician.
Students can expect to learn how to perform basic mechanical tasks under experienced technician supervision. Applying manual tightening and measuring tools, performing the correct use of hydraulic torque and tension tools, describing the main components of mechanical systems, and recognizing the function of cooling systems and lubrication systems. This is an in-depth training regarding all aspects of the Wind Turbine.
Electrical (BTT)
The aim of this module is to enable the participants to work safely with electricity under supervision in a wind turbine environment.
Explains the basics of electricity and the risks, hazards, and interpretation of a simple electrical diagram. Wiring up circuits on electrical boards, learning about lock-out tag-out, electrical-rated tooling, and personal protective equipment. Recognizing the symbols of electrical components, pumps, actuators, valves, etc.
Students can expect to learn how to work safely with electricity under professional supervision.
Hydraulics (BTT)
The aim of the module is to enable the participants to carry out basic hydraulic tasks, supervised by an experienced technician. Including the handling of oil procedures, recognizing the different components of a hydraulic diagram, and describing the functions of hydraulic components (pumps, actuators, valves, etc).
Students can expect to learn how to carry out basic hydraulic tasks under professional supervision.
Advanced Rescue Training
Team Rescue - Hub, Nacelle, Tower, Spinner, Blade (ART)
The aim of this module is to enable the participants to perform rescue operations, in a WTG hub, spinner and inside the blade by using industry standard rescue equipment, methods and techniques, exceeding those of GWO Working at Height.
Single Rescue - Hub, Nacelle, Tower, Spinner, Blade (ART)
The aim of this module is to enable the participants to perform single rescuer advanced rescue operations, in a WTG hub, spinner and inside the blade by using industry standard rescue equipment, methods and techniques, exceeding those of GWO’s BST Working at Heights.
